Virginia received its first snowfall of the season today. It may have just been a dusting, but it was very beautiful nonetheless. I went for a relaxing hike in the afternoon at the Manassas Battlefield. Being alone in the woods with only the sounds of chickadees and snow crunching under your boots is a magical thing. Do yourself a favor and get out for a hike the next time you're in snow country! I took this image along Bull Run (located in the battlefield park). The many trees along its banks gathered a snowy blanket providing some visual separation. I also processed this as a black and white image. I hope that you enjoy it.
